Hello, and welcome to August’s European Edtech News!
We hope you all enjoyed the European summer and were able to recharge your batteries for the upcoming challenges and exciting projects ahead of us. Overall, the news income was slow over the last weeks, due to the summer break, therefore this edition will slightly differ from our usual news presenting routine.

Spanish Market Discovery Webinar
We are excited to showcase the newest project of our Startup Taskforce: Market Discovery Webinars. We will be organizing market discovery webinars to support European startups in accessing information on various European markets and build the relevant network to understand and potentially penetrate them. The first stop, is Spain 🇪🇸
On September 14th at 4pm (90min) we will look into the Spanish EdTech Market. After giving an overall introduction to the Spanish EdTech Market, there will be dedicated sessions for the Spanish K12, higher education and corporate/ lifelong learning markets. Brighteye Ventures’ Edtech Startup Festival
The Brighteye Edtech Startup Festival is bringing together industry experts and leading Edtech operators for a week of digital events. This digital festival is designed to support startup teams!
Each day of next week (Sept 5-9) will focus on a different theme and is designed to have relevance to different members of your team. For example, your People lead or team might want to attend the events on the People day and your Marketing lead or team might want to attend the events on the Marketing day. Council of Europe’s Working Conference
the EEA is supporting the council on the topics of AI and Public Private Partnerships. We are happy to be invited to contribute to the working group on “Artificial intelligence and education: A critical view through the lens of human rights, democracy, and the rule of law” which will take place in hybrid format on 18-19 October 2022 in Strasbourg, France. We will keep you informed of the outcomes!
NEWS FROM OUR MEMBER ASSOCIATIONS
FUND-RAISING
Finnish edtech start-up Kide Science scooped up 1m € million to encourage learning through imagination.
Vienna-based EdTech start-up Teachino received 1m € investment for their tool developed to help teachers plan and document their lessons in the future.
Spanish Edtech The Bridge a talent training and digital skills company closed a financing round of 5m € to accelerate its growth.
UK-based Fundamental VR recently announced that they have raised $20 million to dramatically accelerate medical skill transfer and increase surgical proficiency through its world-leading medical simulation platform, Fundamental Surgery.
