Upcoming EEA activities
We are ready for an action-packed month filled with excitement as we dive into a series of upcoming events, where we´ll have the opportunity to participate in numerous engaging experiences, such as:
School Innovation Forum 2023, where we presented on our EEA mapping of the European edtech landscape to facilitate connection, innovation and partnership.
EdTech X brings a fantastic line-up of international thought leaders who will share their knowledge and experience on the latest topics, trends, and challenges in the EdTech sector. Looking forward to being part of and seeing lots of our members in London.
Council of Europe Edtech Round Table on public private partnership for the Edtech industry taking place on June 21. This meeting will facilitate a discussion around Council guidelines and implementation support for partnership.
AWS EdTech Summer Session: Berlin, the event will cover highly-requested topics, including using AI/ML to build features, modern data strategy and application security and compliance
Further, our Board will meet next week to define a roadmap for the next years. All details of the events above will be shared in our next edition.
Webinar Latin America
After our successful stop in North America (get your recording here!), we are now heading to South America as we are taking a closer look at the needs and opportunities of the K12 education sector in Latin American countries. With the help of Iván Arturo López, we will cover general statistics, education systems and specific needs including policymakers, administrators, and teachers, informing about similarities and differences between the countries.

WSIS Session on Data for Learning
We are honoured to be part of the UNESCO and the Broadband Commission´s panel at the World Summit on the Information Society session on Data for Learning. Our Managing Director suggested following a digital equity approach to data for learning which stipulates ensuring it is used and gathered to support meaningful learning opportunities. Additionally, we explored the skill sets that are necessary in this sector and discussed the need for more structured dialogue between the public and private sectors.

Female Edtech Fellowship - Alumni Weekend
We started the Female Edtech Fellowship a few years ago to support female founders in Europe.
Last weekend we celebrated our first alumni event in Nice, where our fellows met to share perspectives and get supported by their peers in matters ranging from leadership to fundraising to sales best practices. It was a beautiful and productive get-together that celebrated this incredible community of female founders. We are proud of all of them. Thank you, ladies!

Our next cohort starts on July 17th and includes monthly expert calls with outstanding entrepreneurs, peer-to-peer learning and problem solving amongst the fellows and an off-site weekend in France to better connect with fellow entrepreneurs and investors.

EdTech Austria Summit 2023
Our Member EdTech Austria hosted their Summit and we were happy to be part of it. Besides enjoying plenty of interesting discussion and seeing familiar (EEA-) faces our Managing Director was informing on the current Testbed situation within Europe. Congratulations to the EdTech Austria Team for a great event, we are looking forward to next year!

Sana Labs, a Sweden-based company personalising online training for professionals completed a Series B funding round with a 26m € investment.
French Edflex raised 12m € to change the corporate learning model and make self-training appealing and intuitive.
French Simango, offering comprehensive and innovative training for health institutions raised 3.5m € to expand internationally.
German Novaheal, a learning platform for trainees and young professionals in nursing, has raised a 560k € pre-seed round.
Young Heroes, a Dutch startup raised a 400k € pre-seed round to coach and mentor young professionals.
ACQUISITIONS
French saas.group announces the acquisition of Beekast, the collaborative platform to create, facilitate and track meetings, events and training sessions.
Go1 snaps up German speed reading app Blinkist to expand in enterprise learning
