Welcome to June's European Edtech News!
Last month was packed with EEA activities and we are happy to tell you all about it! In addition, don’t miss our selection for this month: worth-reading reports as well as fundraising and M&A news.
EEA activities
We had an action-packed month with multiple events before lots of our members go into the summer break. We had a lot of fun spending time with our members, friends, project partners and other like-minded Edtech enthusiasts during multiple events throughout Europe. Thanks for all the great discussions, we are looking forward to the next events. Here is a summary of some of the events we attended:
School Innovation Forum 2023
During the School Innovation Forum 2023 we presented the EEA mapping of the European Edtech landscape including some of our key findings like the low amount of international sales and the female gap within the sector.
It was a great opportunity, facilitating connection, innovation and partnership. You can read the official event summary here!
EdTechX
We had a great time at EdTechX in London, seeing a lot of our members, friends and project partners participating in interesting sessions and discussions. We enjoyed numerous talks on and off the stage about for example the threats and benefits of AI in education.
Council of Europe Edtech Round Table
We were part of the first Council of Europe Edtech Round Table on public-private partnerships for the Edtech industry. The first meeting included an early-stage discussion about different partnership models and seeing which partners and stakeholders are present in the ecosystem. We provided remarks from our member organisations along with some public-private partnership examples from the Nordics. Furthermore, we discussed sustainable structures and guidelines for supporting a structured public-private dialogue.
AWS EdTech Summer Session: Berlin
We had the chance to present our work at the European Edtech Alliance, the EmpowerED project, and some of the key gaps we’ve found through our Edtech Map at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) EdTech Summit in Berlin. We took part in several expert Q&As and presentations about Gen AI and Machine Learning, Data Compliance, and Culture of Innovation.
