Wrapping up 2025
European EdTech Alliance Briefing, December '25
2025 has been a pivotal year for European EdTech. From reshaping how the ecosystem maps itself, to elevating the policy conversation, to reconnecting in person at events from Sofia to Strasbourg — the work has been wide-reaching, collaborative, and grounded in shared purpose.
As the European EdTech Alliance, we’ve focused not just on visibility, but on credibility, capacity, and community. The result? A stronger foundation, and a clearer path forward into an exciting 2026.
Read on for a quick look at some of the actions that made this year so eventful for us. We wish all of you peace and joy during this holiday period.

🚀 We Launched:
The Global Edtech Alliance of Alliances: a new community for EdTech Alliances and Associations from around the world working together to develop ecosystem sustainability, share vital experience and knowledge, and promote collaborative initiatives grounded in evidence and equity. The EdTech Funding Database: As part of our map environment and with the generous support of the Jacobs Foundation, we launched a European funding database. With automatically updated opportunities for funding and targeted search possibilities helping you to understand funding applicability. We look forward to expanding this database into more global regions in 2026.
The European EdTech Map: Technically a relaunch, we have seen hundreds of new companies joining our re-designed European EdTech Map, which now features easier searching, verified companies, and an easier interface for finding partners, ideas and Edtech Organisations. Not on the map yet? Make sure to fill in the short survey and be part of the European EdTech Map.
The EdTech Learning Labs:
In response to many requests for community learning opportunities, the EEA Learning Labs were launched and provide immersive, expert-led programs built for professionals and innovators navigating the evolving landscape of education, technology, and workforce development. Each Lab offers a focused experience combining research-based insights, real-world case studies, peer collaboration and experts’ views to tackle urgent, high-impact challenges in EdTech. An Early Stage Female EdTech Fellowship:
The Early Stage fellowship track was designed and launched to support aspiring female entrepreneurs ready to transform their EdTech ideas into viable startups. This 4-week online programme offers mentorship, practical learning, and a supportive community to help you navigate the initial phases of your entrepreneurial journey. We loved meeting our first cohort and are excited to have you as part of our fellowship community. We have three different fellowships opening up for early 2026 - Make sure to get your application in on time and become a fellow!
The EdTech Policy Lab:
As a project of the Forum Bildung Digitalisierung together with the Bertelsmann Stiftung, Robert Bosch Stiftung, Vodafone Stiftung Germany as well as the Heraeus Bildungsstiftung, the EEA are excited to be part of the work building a network of key stakeholders to promote sustainable cooperation structures. The goal of the project is to strengthen the potential of collaboration through cooperative, transparent interaction. In structured dialogue formats, representatives from ministries, authorities, and EdTech associations discuss topics related to procurement, awarding, quality assurance, and digital infrastructure.
